VOLNAY SANTENOTS  1° CRU

The Volnay Santenots wine is no doubt the most famous of the Volnay wines. It is made in the locality of Meursault, on the boundary of Volnay.

The particularity of the SANTENOTS Appellation, situated exclusively around the village of Meursault, is that it is known as "MEURSAULT SANTENOTS" If the vines are planted in Chardonnay vines and "VOLNAY SANTENOTS" if the vines are planted Pinot Noir vines.

GRAPE VARIETY : Exclusively about 60 year old PINOT NOIR vines.

SURFACE AREA : 0.25 Hectares

PRODUCTION :  1200 bottles per year.

 

TERROIR : Fairly stony clay-limestone soil.

This Santenots wine has a deep bright colour with black flashes. On the palette it is very fruity. A pleasant woody touch and smooth tannins are the characteristic of a delicate wine.

This Volnay Santenots wine is ideal served with a nice piece of poultry, fillet of pork or lamb.
